Our Center
We are a non-profit organization; we do not receive any government funding. All services are provided free of charge through the generosity of donors from the community. We provide pregnancy testing, limited obstetric ultrasound, prenatal and parenting education.
This center does not provide or refer clients for abortions. Information is provided as an educational service. All medical practices are overseen by Dr. Thomas Essex.
Our Team
Kathie
Executive Director
Kathie enjoys her work as Executive Director of Life Choices Chickasha. She loves people because she recognizes every person from cradle to grave as an image-bearer-of-God who deserves love, respect and protection. Kathie served as a homeschool educator for 23 years. She has spent years encouraging moms who are raising and educating their children. Before joining the Life Choices team in 2022, she worked as a pharmacy technician and mortuary service clerk. She’s been an avid supporter of Life Choices and was a board member in the 1990s. She has been married for 33 years “to my best friend.” Her favorite place to be is out exploring nature. They have four grown children, a daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren. She loves her new nickname: “Nana.”
“I love coming to work every day and encouraging others to be the best parents they can be. Our society has lost its ability to treasure children. They are the future of our society and the apple of God’s eye.”
Makayla, RN
Nurse Manager
Makayla is the nurse manager at Life Choices Chickasha. She is a graduate of Oklahoma City University’s Kramer School of Nursing. Prior to joining the Life Choices team, she worked as an emergency room nurse and a perioperative nurse. Makayla and her husband Tyler have been married for four years; together they have a son. Makayla enjoys evenings outdoors with her family watching the sun set and checking on their animals. In her free time, she enjoys singing, reading, and learning new skills such as sewing and gardening.
“I am passionate about helping and supporting women and families. I am thankful for a job where I can encourage them and share the hope found in Jesus with them.”
